Who It's For
You want to invest in mutual funds but the number of schemes is overwhelming.
You already invest and you're not sure the schemes in your portfolio are the right ones.
You like your schemes but you don't know how to monitor them, or when to sell.
You started investing because a friend, relative, or colleague told you to, and you still don't really know what category your funds are in, what an expense ratio is, or why you picked them.
What this program covers, plainly
- Equity mutual funds only. Long-term investing, not quick money.
- Debt funds are out, beyond a quick note on why bonds are often the simpler choice there. Hybrid gets a brief look on Day 2 to show where it differs; international funds are out.
- This session will not review someone's existing portfolio for them. You build a new one in the program.
The Curriculum
Start to finish: terminology to your own portfolio, built by you.
Get the vocabulary and the map before you touch a single scheme.
NAV, AUM, expense ratio, exit load: the vocabulary every other topic builds on.
Equity, debt, and hybrid, mapped quickly. This program stays focused on equity; hybrid gets a brief look on Day 2, debt doesn't.
The official scheme categories, and why the same fund name can mean different things.
The actual process: shortlist, build, monitor, and know when to exit.
The screeners and filters that narrow hundreds of schemes down to a shortlist worth studying.
Turning that shortlist into a short, defensible list using real criteria, not past returns alone.
Sizing positions and spreading risk so your portfolio holds together, not just each fund alone.
What to actually check each quarter, and what to ignore until it matters.
The specific triggers that mean exit, so you're not holding out of habit or guessing.
STCG and LTCG rates for equity mutual funds, and how your holding period decides which one applies.
Make it real, and know what to do once this workshop ends.
You build your own equity mutual fund portfolio during the session, start to finish, not a sample built in front of you.
The details most investors never learn, the ones that quietly affect your returns.
What a good advisor actually does for you, and the platforms worth using directly.
The staple, no-drama schemes every portfolio can lean on, explained plainly.
