Financial Modelling 101
Most CA/CFA/MBAs can read a model but have never built one. In 10 hours you build a full three statement model from a blank sheet, and understand it well enough to defend every line.
Taught by Chinmaya Amte (former EY · Speaker at 5 IIMs). Hosted by Nandini Agrawal, CA.

Who's Teaching

Finance professional specialising in Excel and financial modelling. He teaches the full build, live - every module drawn from real analyst work, not textbook theory.

Guinness World Record Holder for World's Youngest Female CA. Educator to 1M+ across social media. She hosts the workshop and joins for a brief guest session.

Who It's For
You can read a balance sheet. You've never built one that links.
You know the statements in theory. Now build one that actually links in Excel.
Heading into FP&A, consulting, IB or PE and need to build a model, not just read one.
You update someone else's workbook and hold your breath, never sure what breaks when you change one cell.
You've done the YouTube courses and still can't sit down with a blank sheet and build one on your own.
4 Sessions · 2.5 Hours Each
Ten hours, in the order you'd actually build a model. Every session is hands on - no ready-made templates to hide behind.
Best practice structure. Inputs, calculations and outputs kept separate, a clear colour code, one formula across each row, and no hardcoding: the layout the whole model rests on.
The case and the timeline. Meet the single company case, then build the master timeline with start and end flags and period counters that flex the model.
Revenue and operating costs. Build both from simple drivers such as price times volume, growth rates and cost as a percent of revenue, down to EBITDA.
Fixed assets and depreciation. Capex and a straight line depreciation schedule built as a rollforward: opening balance plus additions, less depreciation, gives closing.
Link the three statements. Wire the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow together, with the retained earnings rollforward and the cash movement, then the first balance check.
Equity and senior debt. Sources and uses of funds, equity and debt drawdowns, and the debt schedule built as a rollforward.
The revolving credit facility. The interest to cash circularity every model runs into, set up cleanly and switched on with control.
Tax, checks and sensitivity. A simple tax line, a checks and error panel so you can trust the model, then Data Tables and a scenario switch with a clean output summary.
Optional capstone: Turn the finished model into a value with a simple DCF, a corporate finance valuation rather than equity research.
What You Walk Out With
Before you join
- 01A laptop with Microsoft 365. A one month free trial from office.com works. Needed for Data Tables and the modern functions used in the build.
- 02Core Excel and finance basics - ideally our Excel for Finance workshop first. You should be comfortable with $ referencing, IF, SUMIFS, XLOOKUP and dates, and recognise a P&L and a balance sheet.
- 03Personal Windows machine is smoothest. Mac and work laptops can block extensions and restrict some functions.
- 04Copilot in Excel needs a separate Microsoft licence, so that portion may be demo only.
